Stop Vodafone Petition - translation

“Dear Vodafone, Herewith, I request that Vodafone generously grants the SWAS demands to all that have registered via SWAS: Instant dissolution of the contract from the moment when insight into consumption became obstructed and return of payments from the same moment” is the translation of the SWAS Stop Vodafone petition: “Geachte Vodafone, hierbij verzoek ik u grootmoedig de SWAS eisen in te willigen voor alle gedupeerden die zich via SWAS hebben aangemeld: Directe ontbinding van het contract met terugwerkende kracht naar het moment dat inzage in het verbruik verhinderd werd en teruggave van gelden vanaf hetzelfde moment” .

Sofar, replies from Vodafone NL to our complaints and demands have been unsatisfactory.

Therefore, I (SWAS) intend to present this petition shortly to a Vodafone spokesman at the Amsterdam office. As far as I am concerned, this will be the last chance for Vodafone NL to avoid legal actions for justice in court.

Vodafone reply? - Claim has been filed on 2008-09-04

I (SWAS) have filed the claim and sofar, Vodafone NL has reacted in her usual disrespectful ways.

I received an email that mentioned an attachment containing their reaction. However, there was no attachment. I replied to the Vodafone email mentioning that there was no attachment and received the answer that Vodafone customer service could not react because I either had not sent the email via myvodafone or I had not mentioned a reference number in the subject. Well, I had replied to the Vodafone email so the reference was automatically mentioned in the subject.

Next day, I received a reply via email saying that I could open the attachment after logging in to myvodafone at “support”.

I logged in to myvodafone, navigated to support, navigated to attachments, clicked….. and received the message: “no input file specified”. I considered “Maybe this is a firefox issue. Let’s try IE.” Logging out with firefox, logging in with IE, navigating to support, navigating to attachments, clicking…… Message: “404 not found.” Thus, a week later we have not one word of acknowledgement from Vodafone to our claim.

Vodafone complaints - A collection

On this page I (SWAS) would like to collect world wide Vodafone complaints. I am particularly interested in complaints that went all the way to court. Your useful contributions would consist of comments, hyperlinks to this article and asking your family, friends, neighbours and colleagues to do the same. Thank you for your support.

The split tongue of Vodafone

At www.vodafone.com/start/responsibility/consumer_issues/spam.html, Vodafone’s international site you can read “Vodafone does not send spam to customers” If Vodafone’s Dutch practices are anything to go by, I (SWAS) pity you already.

Vodafone Spam #4

I’ve got a Vodafone prepaid mobile phone especially to be reached in case of emergencies. I don’t expect my social contacts to call/sms me during working hours for chitchat. However, several times I was alarmed by unsolicited promotion sms (to which I have in no way opted in for) from Vodafone during presentations that I give professionally. At home, I negotiated vodafone.nl via my uncontrollable Vodafone mobile internet connection to at last be able to request the Vodafone Customer Service to stop sending me these unsolicited Vodafone sms promotions via their online contact form. I then received the message that I had to register my personal data (name, address etc.) in order for Vodafone to block these unsolicited Vodafone sms promotions. So I send Vodafone Customer Service the message to quit fooling around and block the unsolicited Vodafone sms promotions immediately, or else. I then received the message that Vodafone Customer Service had registered my personal data in order to block the Vodafone Spam and awarded me €5 credit. My reply was that I do not agree with Vodafone’s unauthorised registration of my personal data and that I demand to be taken out of Vodafone’s databases immediately. Vodafone Customer Service has yet to react. What was that again? “Vodafone does not send spam to customers?” The above email conversation is published via my post www.stopvodafone.com/vodafone-spam-3-vodafone-spam-4/.

Vodafone Spam #3

I almost forgot. In Holland we dial 1200 for updates, to top up credits and for info. Not only do we need to go through numerous options, but every now and then we have to listen to unsolicited Vodafone commercials. How’s that for “Vodafone does not send spam to customers?”

Vodafone Spam #1

Two other Vodafone spam methods occurred to two of my Dutch Vodafone Complaints Blogs (stopvodafone.com and vodafone-klachten.blogse.nl). Vodafone Webrelations spammed my original Vodafone Klachten Blog with several aliases playing out a scenario where the “Bas Vodafone Webrelations Manager” concludes a fictional complaint by “solving” it. The evidence is published through my post www.stopvodafone.com/vodafone-spamt-blog/. Excuse me, did you say “Vodafone does not send spam to customers?”

Vodafone Spam #2

After this one, rather stupidly, Vodafone Red Bandits tried something similar but this time through offending comments at my expense on this site. The evidence is published through my post http://www.stopvodafone.com/vodafone-spam-2/. Do you still believe that “Vodafone does not send spam to customers?”

Vodafone shares endangered by SWAS’ joined claim against Vodafone NL?

This month a claim will be filed by at least 400 unsatisfied Dutch mobile phone and mobile internet subscribers and we mean business. If Vodafone does not satisfy our demands, we will consider publishing Vodafone practices on the international internet scene and we do not doubt that this will deter numerous potential customers to sign a contract with Vodafone thus causing Vodafone shareholders to lose confidence. I (SWAS) am prepared to start mobilising unsatisfied customers internationally and clutter the search engine results pages for Vodafone related terms with our complaints. Only a few weeks ago I started my campaign to mobilise the unsatisfied Dutch Vodafone customers and the Dutch search engine results are already showing up.

MyVodafone free services - Are they really free?

Vodafone contracts for mobile internet and mobile phones are supported by so-called free services like MyVodafone. In the end, Vodafone’s free services are naturally payed for by the Vodafone customers. Recently, Vodafone has acquired ZYB for €32 million. ZYB is a tool that enables users to back-up and share their contact and calendar information. Sharing this information through mobile phone and internet seems to be the next step forward for social networking. What worries me (SWAS), is the fact that Vodafone will be at the heart of this development. Vodafone, whose employees like to call themselves “The Red Bandits”, blocks their Dutch customers’ on- and offline data usage meters for months on end because of so-called technical problems! For me personally, MyVodafone has not functioned properly yet. Our complaints about following extreme high invoices are not respected. Do we really want the worlds biggest telecom company to become even bigger and more powerful?

Vodafone complaints - Why complain about Vodafone?

Since May, Vodafone obstructs all access to data usage/credit/consumption information for Dutch mobile internet and telephone subscribers, making it near impossible to stay within limits.
At the same time it is impossible to get a detailed specification of the invoices that are mostly bigger than usual.
To this moment, Vodafone still advertises on the Vodafone.nl website that we can always check our data usage/credit and get invoice details via MyVodafone .

Our complaints via email, telephone and letter were to no avail.
Vodafone argues that it concerns a free extra service thus no ground for any complaints/demands.
I argue that Vodafone provides, free or not, false information.

In a short time under the acronym SWAS, I have mobilised hundreds of unsatisfied Vodafone customers to file a claim.
Our demands: option to terminate the contract per May and return of payments.
I plan to file the claim in August.

  1. Your blog is interesting!

    Keep up the good work!

  2. A quote from 2007-Dec-12 at forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=876502 reads:

“When I lodged a complaint with the TIO for a large bill of excess charges, I was able to get out of my Vodafone contract and have the service cancelled.
Vodafone agreed stating they did not have an accurate way for me too see how much data I have used.
I have since signed upto the 5gb plan with an ibulilt Vodafone WAN modem, so the VMC software should be enough.
Vodafone should simply provide a usage meter!”

Well, Vodafone did provide us with a data usage meter. However, it mysteriously quit functioning since May. After the quadrupled invoices, I quit using the Vodafone USB modem alltogether. In my opinion, Vodafone NL ought to return our money and grant us to end our subscriptions immediately without any protest from the month of May.

  3. If you call with Customer service you can ask for a specified invoice, they sent it to you without any questions asked. All the crap on this website is utter bullshit, and no I’m not an employee…

  4. Hi Swas,

I have been getting EUR250 and above bills since the beginning of my EUR50-a-month-and-free-phone Vodafone subscription. I do call abroad but have the Blox for calling abroad installed, and I get these outrageous amounts. How can this be? When I was using Lyca, I would spend max EUR100 for calling both in NL and abroad, about the same amount. Not to mention that Lyca is prepaid. What would you suggest me to do? Go to the Vodafone store where I got the contract and demand a list of all calls etc, and cancel the contract if they do not provide the details?

    Thanking you in advance,

    Nikola

  11. Hi there, I found your blog via Google while searching for first aid for a heart attack and your post looks very interesting for me.

  12. VODAFONE DUPED ME

I was given wrong information about schemes to convert my prepaid to postpaid-

I was told that randomly 150 numbers are chosen by the company for experimenting new service of location display on screen of incoming calls, for which prepaid is to be converted into postpaid first.other schemes will be-
1.Disply of location alongwith number of caller.
    2.No clip charges.
3.Ater a month if not satisfied with postpaid, all prepaid schemes will be resumed and security deposit will be refunded.
4.After 2month if i get my connection converted into prepaid, number will be same and all recharges would have full talk value and all previous schemes of prepaid will be resumed.

When i enquired customer care they assure me of the authenticity and told me that even if i was demanded some amount in this regard it’d be safe as the call is from vodafone employee.when i got my connection converted, all schemes turned out to be bogus and when i registered complaint at vodafone customer care, they clearly told me that you can get your connection terminated as that employee of our has left the company,

After that i found that i’m unable to talk with the customer care at customer care line i.e.111 by my phone, than I call by other number i found that my number was on IVR i.e only schemes can be listened on 111 but can’t talk with customer care executive, anyhow i got it corrected.

Next time when i call their executive talk with me but instead of giving proper answer,he put me on hold for a very long period and than cut my line.

Here i want to know who is playing foul with me that employee only or the company as the company has assured me of the authenticity of thet person as its employee and the motive of that person was to benefit company.

I bought that connection for Rs.295,and lifetime validity for Rs.300,more than that havin that number from last 3 years, and now i’ve been duped like this.

    Any suggestion????

  13. Having just found this site by chance whilst searching around for vodafone klantenservice related stuff,[yeah right] I was pleasantly surprised and alarmed by the content of most of these complaints, and to the same extent all of which sounded very familliar. I shall be busying myself with my own vodafonic diatribe but in the meantime am tempted to order one of those lovely T-Shirts i see above.
Unfortunate that so many have these problems,-great that there is a place to slag them!

  14. my friend has received a blank miss call 09764676985 every day and night after 10PM but he never talk with him. He call two cell nos. but never talk when we return back to call him he never pick the call. this number is belongs to GOA. This number guy tease my friend niece. I want to locate this number and we can talk to him and stop to him call again. He badly harass my friend family. I suggest to my friend to lodge FIR against this number.

  15. iopen the site vodafone site.in that site tollfreenumer 55655 for the caller tunes.then i called that number.i purchase 4 rupees.but they are mentioned the tollfree(55655).then hw to cutoff my money.that my question.
